What is Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test?

Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test or PSTET is essential qualification exam a candidate need to pass to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in schools.

Punjab STET Exam Pattern:

  • Exam Type: Objective
  • No Negative marking
  • Candidate need to secure at least 60% marks to qualify.

Paper I: For teaching class I to V

Subject Questions Marks
(i) Child Development and Pedagogy 30 30
(ii) Language I 30 30
(iii) Language II 30 30
(iv) Mathematics 30 30
(v) Environmental Studies 30 30

Paper II: For teaching class VI to VIII

Subject Questions Marks
(i) Child Development and Pedagogy 30 30
(ii) Language I 30 30
(iii) Language II 30 30
(iv) Mathematics + Science / Social Science 60 60

Punjab STET Syllabus:

Paper I:

Child Development and Pedagogy: This section focus on psychology of teaching, interaction, atributes and learning relevent to age group of 6 to 11 years.

Language I: Questions from Language choosed by Candidate.

Language II: Questions from Language choosed by Candidate.

Mathematics: This section will test problem solving ability.

Environmental Studies: Questions will be asked on the syllabus of Class IV and V.

Paper II:

Child Development and Pedagogy: This section focus on psychology of teaching, interaction, atributes and learning relevent to age group of 11 to 14 years.

Language I: Questions from Language choosed by Candidate.

Language II: Questions from Language choosed by Candidate.

Mathematics and Science / Social Studies: Questions from class VI to VIII syllabus.
