All India Institute of Medical Sciences Entrance Exam

What is AIIMS Exam?

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for the purpose of taking admission in MBBS course (UG Course) and MD/MS Course (PG Courses). 6 new AIIMS are setup at Bhopal, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Jodhpur and Rishikesh.

Duration of MBBS course is 5½ academic years including one year’s compulsory internship.

AIIMS Eligibility:

  • Age: Applying candidate should have attained or will attain the age of seventeen (17) years as on the 31st December of the year of admission.
  • Educational Qualification: Candidate who have passed 12th exam (10 + 2) exam with minimum 60% marks (50% for ST & SC candidates) in Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology. Candidates who are appearing for intermediate exam and expecting above than required percentage can also apply.

AIIMS Exam pattern :

  • subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge
  • Duration of AIIMS Exam: 3½ hours
  • No. of questions: 200 objective type (multiple choice and reason-assertion type)
  • AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam Pattern: Physics (60 questions), Chemistry (60 questions) Biology (60 questions), General Knowledge (20 questions)
  • AIIMS Marking: For each correct answer candidate will get 1 mark and for incorrect answer 1/3 mark will be deducted.
  • Language of paper: candidate can opt either for English or Hindi.
  • AIIMS Cutoff: cutoff for General category candidates is 50%, for OBC candidates 45% and for SC/ST candidates 40%.
