Eligibility Criteria for Yantriks:
Matriculate with 3 years Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics Engg.
Application Procedure for Yantriks:
Candidates have to apply as per the format given in the advertisement which appears in the Employment Newspaper.
Exam Pattern for Yantriks:
The question paper for candidates appearing for the post of Yantrik will contain questions from their respective discipline (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics and Telecommunication).

Physical Standards for Yantriks:
- Height: Min. 157 cms.
- Chest: Min. expansion 5 cms.
- Weight: Proportionate to height & age (± 10% acceptable).
- Eye Sight: 6/6 (Good eye) and 6/9 (Bad eye) for GD.
Pay and Other Benefits for Yantriks:
- Pay Scale: Rs. 5200 -20200 along with Rs. 2400 Grade Pay
- Other benefits: Free ration, free clothing, free medical treatment of self and family including dependent parents.
- Leave: 45 days Earned Leave and 08 days Casual Leave every year with leave travel concession for self and family. Earned leave can also be accumulated.
- Insurance: An insurance cover of Rs. 10 Lakhs at a premium of Rs. 1000/- per month.
- Contributory Pension Scheme, Provident Fund and Gratuity on retirement.
Selection Procedure for Yantriks:
Candidates are required to appear for written test. All those who pass the written test is subjected to the interview. On qualifying interview, candidates are subjected to Physical Fitness Test. Successful candidates are required to undergo medical examination.

Applications are invited from male Indian Nationals possessing educational qualifications and age as prescribed below, for recruitment to the post of Naviks (General Duty) in the Indian Coast Guard :
Coast Guard Navik (General Duty) in the Pay Scale : Rs. 5200 – 20200 with Rs.2000 Grade Pay, Qualification: 10+2 with Maths and Physics from an education board recognised by central/ state government., Age: 18-22 years

Naviks in Indian Coast Guard
Eligibility for Naviks:
10+2 with Maths and Physics from an education board recognised by Central/State or Govt.

Exam Pattern for Naviks:
Candidates are required to appear for General Mental Ability Test followed by test in English, Mathemetics, General Science and General Knowledge. The candidates are required to pass in all the tests and in aggregate.
Physical Standards for Naviks:
- Height: Min. 157 cms. (May be reduced by 5 cms in the case of Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese (including those from Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Garhwal, Sikkim, local tribals of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and by 2 cms in case of candidates from Lakshdweep, Mainland settlers in Andaman and Nicobar and candidates joining the Coast Guard on secondment from other Govt, departments).
- Chest: Min. expansion 5 cms.
- Weight: Proportionate to height & age (± 10% acceptable).
- Eye Sight: 6/6 (Good eye) and 6/9 (Bad eye) for GD. 6/ 18 (Good eye), 6/36 (Bad Eye) for Domestic Branch.
