What is IIT JAM?

IIT JAM exam is conduct by IIT, Delhi to accept admission in Integrated Ph.D. Programmes at IISc, Banglore and MCA, M.Sc., Joint M.Sc. – Ph.D. and M.Sc. – Ph.D. Dual Degre courses in IITs.

IIT JAM Eligibility: IIT JAM result declare in Mid of April

  • IISc Eligibility criteria: Minimum 60% is required for General category/OBC candidates and for SC/ST candidates at least 50% is required.
  • IITs Eligibility Criteria: For general/OBC category candidates at least 55% aggregate marks are required and for SC/ST candidates at least 50% marks are required.

IIT JAM Exam Pattern:

BL, BT and CA Exam Pattern: Biological Sciences (BL), Biotechnology (BT) and Computer Applications (CA) question papers are objective type and for each incorrect answer 1/3 mark will be deducted.

All other paper in JAM Exam are objective-cum-descriptive type. These test papers will have multiple choice type questions(MCQ), fill-in-blank type questions, and descriptive type questions, carrying weightages of 20% 30% and 50%, respectively.

Objective type questions carries 02 marks and for each incorrect answer 0.5 mark will be deducted. There will be no negative marking for fill in the blanks and descriptive type questions.
