Mechanical Engineering Jobs in Air Force

Eligibility for Mechanical Engineer:

Education: First division (60% & above) in the following: BE / B.Tech in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Production / Industrial Production or a combination of these subjects OR Section A and B of Associate Membership Examination of Institution of Engineering (India) with Mechanical / Aeronautical subjects by actual studies OR Section A and B of Associate Membership Examination of the Aeronautical Society of India with Group 1 (Design and Production) or Group II (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) subjects by actual studies.

I: Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) Selection Procedure in Air Force:

Selection is made on the basis of AFCAT (a screening test which has only Objective Multiple Type Questions (MCQs) on general engineering and specialized subjects).

II: University Entry Scheme (UES):

(Only Men can apply) The candidate must be currently studying in Pre-final year of BE/ B.Tech course in the relevant streams of engineering as applicable to AEC Courses. There must be no backlog /arrears 0 papers in the previous semesters.

Mechanical Engineer Job Profile:

Mechanical Engineers are involved with preventive maintenance and servicing of aircraft or of common user and specialist application vehicles. He can also be involved in the safety and maintenance of firearms and ammunition at an Air Force Base.

Electronics Engineer in Air Force

Eligibility for Electronics Engineer:

Recruitment will be done through AFCAT

Education: 60% & above in the following: BE / B.Tech in Electronics / Telecommunication / Electrical / Electrical Communication / Electronics & Communication / Instrumentation / Computer Science & Engineering or a combination of these subjects.

I: Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) Selection Procedure in Air Force:

Selection is made on the basis of AFCAT (a screening test which has only Objective Multiple Type Questions (MCQs) on general engineering and specialized subjects).

AFCAT Notification: June and December.

II: University Entry Scheme (UES):

(Only Men can apply) The candidate must be currently studying in Pre-final year of BE/B.Tech course in the relevant streams of engineering as applicable to AEC Courses.

Pay for Engineer in Air Force:

Selected candidates are paid a stipend equivalent to the initial basic pay of Flying Officer rank for 12 months for the final year of study of engineering on completion of training. On completion these candidates are granted provisional SSC and subsequently considered for Permanent Commission at the specialists phase of training at AFTC.
