SSC JE Eligibility Criteria:

CPWD (Civil & Electrical):

Education: Diploma in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering from recognized College / University.
Age: 18 to 32 years

CWC and Farakka Barrage (Civil & Mechanical):

Education: Diploma or Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from recognized College / University.
Age: 18 to 32 years

Border Roads Organisation (BRO) (Civil, Electical & Mechanical):

Education: 3 years Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering for Civil Junior Engineer post and 3 years Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering for Electrical & Mechanical Junior Engineer post from recognized College / University AND two years working experience in field.
Age: 18 to 30 for BRO

MES (Civil, Electical & Mechanical, Quantity Surveying):

Education: 3 years Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering for Civil Junior Engineer post and 3 years Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering for Electrical & Mechanical Junior Engineer post from recorginised College / University AND two years working experience in field.
Age: 18 to 30 for MES

MES (Quantity Surveying):

Education: 3 years Diploma or from recognized College / University or intermediate in Building and Quantity Surveying Sub Divisional -II from institute of Surveyors.
Age: 18 to 30 for MES

SSC JE Exam Pattern:

Paper I: Objective Type paper (2 hours); negative marking of -0.25 for each incorrect answer

  1. General Intelligence & Reasoning : 50 Marks
  2. General Awareness : 50 Marks
  3. General Engineering (Civil & Structural / Electrical / Mechanical): 100 marks

Paper II: Conventional Type paper (2 hours)
General Engineering (Civil & Structural / Electrical / Mechanical): 300 marks

Interview: Those who clear both paper I and II will be called for interview.
