This quote is actually from 2016, but it is being inaccurately shared as a comment on Trump’s second term in 2026.
First it is not the complete quote.
The original Quote was: “I don’t know when we decided that we were going to start celebrating bullies. I don’t know when it became okay to be mean to people. I don’t know when it became okay to just say whatever comes into your head, even if it’s not true, even if it’s insulting to women, or minorities, or people with disabilities. That’s not how I was raised.”
Obama said these words in October 2016 in Miami, Florida during a campaign rally for Hillary Clinton.
The actual remarks focused specifically on the choice to “celebrate bullies.
But some people started sharing this quote in context to Trump’s policies in 2026, which is incorrect as Obama didn’t said these words in 2026 criticizing Trump Government policies.
